Sea Eagle Hybrid Standup Paddleboards The Sea Eagle hybrid is a 9’6” paddleboard which is designed for both flat water and surfing. The short size allows for some pretty impressive maneuvering, although we found it to be a little bit short for extended trips. Like all of the Sea Eagle boards, it tracks extremely well due to the single fin. It’s also plenty wide, allowing you to perform on the water exercises if that’s your thing. This board is extremely stable, boasting a 32” width and a 4” nose rocker to allow you to surf as well as paddle when the urge takes you. The small size and minimal weight make this one even more portable than your average inflatable SUP, which is a bonus for those who are short on space. The board has a slight rock through its length as well. It’s enough to speed the board up and keep you doing well while you’re on the waves, but not enough to keep you from enjoying flat water paddling. The deck also has high-quality EVA foam coating it, providing a ton of grip for your feet and allowing you to brave decently choppy waters despite the short overall length. It’s a great board for beginners, especially those completely new to the sport who aren’t quite sure what they’re going to enjoy the most just yet. It’s not perfect: the short overall length doesn’t lend this board to high speeds and the load capacity comes in fairly low at 175lbs without any options available for larger people. The kit which comes with the Hybrid has everything you need to get out there, but the quality of it is a bit questionable. Those with a lot of experience may find themselves wanting a better pump and bag over time. It’s not bad, just overall it’s not quite as good as some of the more expensive kits out there. The Sea Eagle Hybrid is exactly what it states: a respectable hybrid board which is capable of doing just about anything you might enjoy on a SUP. This all-rounder design comes in at a great price as well, allowing a wide variety of people to enjoy it. It’s not the fastest board around, and it’s not suitable for everyone, but there are a lot of people out there who haven’t found their niche yet and will get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
